I've quit the position at the book store I was working at, so if anyone is in need of a part-time position, that one is open for the taking, I suppose. I've started working for the Ministry, though I must say that recent events have made this adjustment period quite interesting.

I've been offered the position to become Bellatrix Lestrange's personal secretary. In other words, I will know whatever she's doing, whenever she's doing it. I'm considering accepting the offer, for various reasons, but wanted to know what all of you would think of this so when or if this becomes reality, it wouldn't shock all of you to death. I told her I'd give her two days before I gave my response, so I'm just asking for a response from all of you within two days. By no means do I believe in what they're doing; it's a way to keep myself informed with what's occurring in the world around me with first hand knowledge.
I think this might prove to be a useful step, but I wanted your opinions first.

1:12 pm - A Twist on Things
|
I've been thinking more and more about just getting the hell out of England, if you'll excuse my language. Not that I don't love the country, but I rather find their tedious rules and pointless organizational skills bland and unimportant. Honestly, there are better ways to go about arranging a country and running it. I promise you, there are.
Though, I'm tempted to say that were I offered a position in the Ministry, even now, I'd like to see what I could do to assist in making these changes better. Forgive me, my friends, for saying so. I hardly believe in what the Ministry has to offer, but if they are changing things one way or another, there are far better things that they could change rather than keeping track of what we are. If the world must be changed, there are far better and more sensible ways of going about it rather than forcing people to register with who they are based on blood status. I don't like being known simply as "pureblood" and automatically having a higher status then most people in the world. I'm not even British by blood, and I've more of a status then say...Harry himself, no offense Harry, just because I'm pureblood. It's a rather confusing system, but if someone who believes wholeheartedly in this would like to explain to me why blood status is so important in keeping track of all of us, then by all means, please do so. I'm quite an intelligent witch--by no means a Hermione, but intelligent enough to understand what you're after if you simply explain to me how this doesn't connect back to the Death Eater views of the first war. Perhaps it's my own ignorance, but wouldn't this be the ideal society for the 1960 Death Eater elitist? Those of you who were present during those times, please explain to me this ideal and how it's different from what's occurring now. From my viewpoint, all I'm seeing is a shady attempt to bring back old beliefs in a different way of saying it.
And I realize that this entry may upset many people, because of various points that I've brought up. I'm merely curious as to why these new ideas are supposedly going to better our society and save us from more Muggle attacks. If you, Mrs. Lestrange, or you, Minister Lestrange, are willing to explain this to me, I'd be glad to listen. But for now, I'm going to keep questioning, because questioning is one of those things that I do very well, and it's one of those things that constantly reminds me that I'm human.

I'm officially registered now, and so is Vati. I'm not too thrilled about having to do it. While it keeps tabs on who's who in the wizarding world, it seems more degrading than not. I feel like my status as a person has been dropped far below zero, and now I'm only going to be known as "Pureblood". Not even Padma Patil, a twin sister, or anything remotely close to accurate, just: pureblood. And to make things even worse off for my sister and I, we're not British by birth. Our family moved here when we were younger to escape financial crisis back home in India. What makes this whole situation worse is that whenever I help a patient who's classified as a Muggleborn, our hospital has instated a new policy of sorts. We have to first make certain that they can pay for their care before they're officially even allowed to enter the hospital. Rather ridiculous, if you ask me. Isn't that the point of a public hospital, to help the public?
I've yet to turn someone down, but I've seen some of my co-workers having to do it, and I just give them a look of sympathy. It's all I can do right now. I'm only an intern, after all, and hardly getting paid for my position. We're still testing for magical blood, as well. The number of patients has vastly gone down over these past few weeks that we're actually admitting into the hospital, and I'm worried that because of this, my position may be effected. I'm at the low end of the chain, after all. The least amount of money goes toward my pathetic salary. I may be out of my internship if this keeps up, and then I'll certainly speak my mind with the Ministry. I'll be damned if they force me into a Ministry position because I'm only working part-time at the book store that I'm assisting at.
I still hate this feeling of being so helpless. It's bloody ridiculous.
How are the rest of you taking this so far?

11:52 pm - Pissed
|
The actions of the public lately have, for lack of a better way to say this, pissed me off entirely. It takes quite a bit to get me upset, and even more for me to want to react, but I have to say that this latest stunt that they've pulled is enough to push me over the edge. Why must they flock like house elves to the hottest and hippest story to hit the news stands? Why must they practically stalk the poor victim--yes, victim--of the story to the point where this victim can't even go outdoors to get herself sufficient living necessities, such as food?
So Parvati was discovered in a scandalous situation. So there were photographs taken of her at the time. So everyone now can see my twin in an image that she doesn't wish to portray to the world. So what? It's not like we're all that well-known, or famous. No offense to any of you, but if Harry, Ron or Hermione for instance, or any of the Order of the Phoenix, were spotted in a similar situation, well, maybe then I could understand this insane desire to get even more pictures of the victim. But leave us alone already, please! Or have you lot all forgotten that Vati and I are twins? I look identical to her, in every way, shape and form. If you really want a story, come to me, and leave my sister the hell alone, would you? Let her live her life! We've had enough trouble lately.
If you really want a story, we'll tell you how we successfully cared for my mum after Papi was killed in the bombing of The Leaky Cauldron. We'll tell you how despite everything, Mum couldn't quite get over the loss of her soul mate, and has returned home to India in order to heal herself completely. We'll tell you what we're doing to survive since the loss of our tight-knit family here in Britain.
But Merlin. So what if you saw a picture of a woman naked? It's modern times, lades and gentlemen. It's not so strange to hear of a naked woman! Or are you all that scared to realize and admit your own physical flaws that you must attack someone who, in my personal opinion, is gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, and most importantly, so courageous for putting up with the lot of you as well as she has been?
